About the Exhibition: Biodesign presented 57 newly developed materials and applications that utilize biology for design, art and architecture. These explorations highlight the possibility of working with life in a variety of ways, from supporting a building with trees to recycling waste and growing fabric with microbes. Several of these innovations work to align our behavior with the preservation of natural resources, to erect bridges between ecosystems and the built environment and demonstrate that the two can benefit and ultimately sustain one another.
